Are We Not Infinite?
May 6 2024
I am a sea
I am depths unknown
I am unknowable
Unquantifiable
Inconceivable
I am a contradiction
Equal parts
Everything and nothing
I am outer space
I am the cosmos
There is eternity in these bones
I am internal foreverness
The deeper I feel
The deeper these feelings expand internally
Like roots of a tree
The size of galaxies
Interdimensional
I am not the only one
You have this too
You can find it
I can show you
Because I am a good teacher
I have touched truth
I know her name
There are others
Who have gone before us
We can show you the way
To find the eternity within
To learn to see in lightless spaces
We can learn to be soft
It is scary
Because these feelings are big
After all, we are eternity personified
Are we not
Let us dive into our own depths
With fear by our side
We will take fear’s hand
While we seek out our vulnerable places
Where it hurts the most
Where fear is most scared to go
Let us call out pain’s name
In our lightless souls
Let us tread into unknown spaces
May we learn to sit in the cold deep
May we learn to be alone in it
May we learn that we are never alone
For we have been given feelings to keep us company
Sadness will walk with you
Wherever you go
Sadness is the bravest of these
Internal souls
Anger will rise up
For anger is the great protector
Anger knows injustice well
But we need to ask Anger to trust us
That we are healing these parts
The wounds they gave us
Like wandering shamans
We visit each wound we have ignored
Gathering our emotions
As we learn what it means
To seek out old wounds
As we learn to journey
The lonely road of healing
May we find solace in our own strength
For you are here
You are now
You have made it this far
You are a warrior
Your sword is made of compassion
Your shield of righteous anger
You have donned armor of truth
And you ride the horse named Love
May we fight for ourselves
May we give to ourselves
May we touch those lonely wounds
May we seek the deepest of caves
So that it is no longer scary
May we all learn
To make a home in the loneliest parts of our souls
